Eindhoven, The Netherlands – June 30, 2026 – EFFECT Photonics is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Katharine Schmidtke as a Member of the Board of Directors and Strategic Advisor to the Management Team. Dr. Schmidtke has been on board with EFFECT Photonics since May 2026.
Dr. Schmidtke brings more than 25 years of international experience in optoelectronics, optical communications, and data-center interconnect technologies. Most recently, she led sourcing for Meta’s AI accelerator ASICs and next-generation optical interconnects. She is also co-founder of Eribel Systems and serves as Adjunct Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Dr. Schmidtke holds a Ph.D. in Nonlinear Optics from the University of Southampton and completed postdoctoral research at Stanford University.
